48 Hours in Singapore
Despite being one of the world’s smallest countries, Singapore packs an extraordinary amount into its compact borders. In just 48 hours, you can wander through futuristic skylines, lush gardens, bustling hawker centers and vibrant cultural districts, all thanks to one of the world’s most efficient transport systems. At Travel Legacy, we believe the best itineraries strike the perfect balance between iconic sights and authentic local experiences, so our team has curated the perfect 48-hour guide to the ‘Lion City’.
Day 1: Big Views and Supertrees
Start your first morning at Gardens by the Bay. This is Singapore’s most popular park. Step inside the giant glass domes to see the Cloud Forest, which features a massive indoor waterfall that keeps the room nice and cool. Next, walk over to the Supertree Grove to stand underneath giant, plant-covered towers that look like they belong in a sci-fi movie.
By lunchtime, you will be hungry. Walk over to Lau Pa Sat, a historic street food market right in the middle of the big city skyscrapers. Order a plate of Hainanese chicken rice or a bowl of spicy laksa noodles. The food is delicious, quick and easy on your pockets.
As the sun goes down, head over to the Marina Bay waterfront. Find a spot near the water to watch the free light and laser show. The way the lights bounce off the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel is a treat to the eyes.

☀️ Best Time to Visit: Arrive before 10 am to enjoy cooler temperatures and fewer crowds.
Day 2: Culture, Color and a Safari Visit
Spend your second morning exploring Singapore’s colorful history. Head to Kampong Glam, the historic Arab quarter. Walk down Haji Lane, a narrow street filled with bright murals, cute cafes, and small boutiques. Afterwards, take a short train ride to Chinatown to see beautiful temples and traditional houses.
For lunch, visit the Maxwell Food Centre. At Travel Legacy, we have one simple rule when it comes to Singapore’s hawker centres: follow the locals. If Singaporeans are lining up at a stall, chances are you’re about to have one of the best meals of your trip.
End your trip with a truly unique experience: the Night Safari. This is the world’s first nighttime zoo. You ride on an open air tram through the dark jungle to watch lions, rhinos and elephants move around after the sun sets.
Good to Know: The Night Safari is one of Singapore’s most popular attractions, so booking your tickets in advance can save you time and help secure your preferred entry slot.
We also spoke to some fellow globe trotters and here are some quick travel tips we’ve gathered for you:
- Getting Around: Don’t bother with taxis. The MRT train system is inexpensive, clean, air-conditioned and connects to every major sight.
- The Weather: Singapore is very hot and humid all year long. Always carry a water bottle and take breaks inside air conditioned malls during the hottest part of the afternoon.
- SIM: Purchase an E-Sim or a physical one from the airport and immediately activate it to ensure smooth connectivity.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or simply passing through, Singapore has a way of making every moment count. It’s experiences like these that inspire every itinerary we create at Travel Legacy. 48 hours go by fast, but Singapore packs so much into a small space that you’ll leave feeling like you saw a whole different world. And if this weekend itinerary leaves you wanting more, that’s simply another reason to contact us and let us help you plan your next Singapore adventure.
